Getting to Montpellier is easy. If you’re coming by plane, you’ll likely connect to the city via Paris, Barcelona, or another major airport in the region. Of course, you can also travel by train to Montpellier from most destinations in Europe. Once you’re in Montpellier, you’ll find a fantastic and inexpensive local tramway and bus system that connects you to all parts of the city and beyond.
Several tram lines and bus routes stop near Le Corum, the host venue for the IUGB Congress in downtown Montpellier, and most conference hotels are within walking distance of the venue.

By Walking
The venue (Le Corum, Esplanade Charles De Gaulle) is located in the city center, within walking distance of the railway station for commuters from outside the city (15 minutes).
Le Corum is a short walk from most congress hotels.
By Bike
Participants from the region and bike travellers are encouraged to choose an eco-friendly way to come to the conference. The region of Montpellier is beautiful travelling by bike and put you in the good mood for an interesting conference.
Once you have reached Montpellier, you may access the service (more details here, in French only) and rent a bike at any time (7/7, 24/24) for €0.50/hour in any of the 50 bike stations. You can also use the bicycle parking provided by Vélomagg (map here, one of the bicycle parking is called “Corum”).
By Local Bus and Tramways
3 tramway lines (n°1, n°2, and n°4) stop at “Corum” tramway station, which are reachable from most places within the city.
You may access the online interactive map of the city bus and tramways.
You can buy tickets at the ticket dispensers available at each tramway station and in many newspaper shops. To buy Passes, go to the office, next to the railway station.

• Ten-trip ticket: €10.00

By Car
Montpellier is served by motorways A9 and A75/A750.
• A9 : exit “Montpellier Est” (n°29): access to Corum in 10 minutes.
• A75/A750 : the motorway ends in the western part of the city, then follow the signs to « Centre ville » and « Parking – Le Corum. »
• There is public parking for 500 cars under the Corum building

Warning !
The conference is held during the summer, when traffic is at its highest (especially during weekends and Fridays). Driving may be particularly difficult on the main roads.

By Train
From Paris
If you fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can take a fast connection with the high-speed train (TGV) direct to Montpellier. The “TGV – CDG 2” station is located in the heart of the airport (between terminals 2C-2D and 2E-2F); the direct train journey takes 4 hours.
Alternatively, you may take a train at “Gare de Lyon Station” in the center of Paris; the direct train journey is then 3 hours ¼.
From Spain
Arrival in Montpellier by train is also possible if your plane is landing in Madrid or Barcelona. Travel time for a direct connection from Madrid is 6 hours, and 4 hours from Barcelona. Some « low cost » flights arrive at Gerona airport, located close to the French border.
There are also direct trains from Gerona to Montpellier; the journey is 2 hours 1/3.
From Belgium
There is one daily direct high-speed train from Brussels to Montpellier (6 hours).
